REVEAL Color Science: What Changed

ARRI's REVEAL Color Science introduces several fundamental improvements over the classic Alexa color pipeline. The most significant changes include enhanced color separation in the shadows, more accurate reproduction of saturated colors, and improved handling of mixed lighting conditions. These changes mean that LUTs developed for the classic Alexa pipeline may not produce optimal results on Alexa 35 footage.

Adapting LUTs for the Alexa 35

When developing LUTs for the Alexa 35, we took a fresh approach rather than simply porting our existing Alexa LUTs. The new sensor and color science respond differently to creative manipulation, and we spent months testing and refining our LUT collection to ensure it takes full advantage of REVEAL's capabilities.
